Cubba Bubba is a Canadian business that aims to bring you “Who woulda thunk?” products that make first time parenting (or even nth time parenting) just a little easier and a little more fun. We’re here, strapped in right next to you on this magical ride.

I went on maternity leave in January 2022 and after my baby was born, I wanted to lay the foundation for a business that will grow and allow me to eventually work my own hours and be there for my daughter. I’m a retail digital marketer by profession so I knew that an e-commerce website was the way to go! I just needed a great product. I realized I already knew everything there is to know about wearable breast pumps and it would be an excellent product to market. I had personally used them and truly believed in their power to ease moms’ challenging routine, as they had done for a first-time mom like me. I then began building a brand on paper with a single mantra as the base: empathy. I wanted my brand to be one that moms could connect and relate to. I wanted to give it a voice of empathy, yes, but also friendliness, kindness and “I-got-you”ness.

And that’s how the “Cubba Bubba” brand was born. The brand tag is “Caring for bébé and you,” encompassing my genuine desire to help moms and babies out there, as well as my immortal love for Moira Rose and her pronunciation of “bébé!” I did extensive research to find suitable suppliers/manufacturers, negotiated terms and inventory sizes with them, built my website, developed my creative, and finally launched Cubba Bubba wearable breast pumps in Q3 2022, all while taking care of my very first baby. The wearable breast pump rage has been around for a few years but Cubba Bubba is the very first CANADIAN business that purveys them.

I realized I already knew everything there is to know about wearable breast pumps and it would be an excellent product to market. I had personally used them and truly believed in their power to ease moms’ challenging routine, as they had done for a first-time mom like me.Having the time and flexibility to play with your baby, run some errands, get some light chores done, or just get your steps in around the house is priceless! All I want is to give this gift of time and freedom to all moms out there who want to breastfeed.

Affordable (as opposed to Willow & Elvie) wearable breast pumps by a Canadian business shipped for free! Sure, there are some other affordable options out there, but they aren’t Canadian businesses and they aren’t invisible when worn like the Cubba Bubba pumps (they have a clunky motor sitting atop the cups).

What do you like about tinyEmail and how does it help your business?

I love that tinyEmail is a pretty young Canadian business and its values align with mine. My conversation with founder Seamas was very enlightening and he seemed to genuinely care about my business’s success. The customizable email and pop-up templates are beautiful and so easy to work with, but what I’m looking forward to are the soon-to-launch automation features that will help me be hands-off with flows like abandoned carts and checkouts. However, the one thing I love MOST about tinyEmail is the unparalleled customer support. I have a personal support agent who connected with me on LinkedIn, assuring me he’s available to help anytime.

I also have a personal agent available via phone/text to support me anytime. I’m yet to see this level of hands-on customer support by any other email app…or any other Shopify app for that matter!

What are somethings things you want tinyEmail to have or do for you next?

Automated email triggers. I know your team is already working on these and they’re launching soon…can’t wait!

Which tool did you use before? Why did you switch? And how do you find us better/different?

I tried Shopify email but it didn’t have he wide variety of capes I was looking for. I also researched Klaviyo, Privy, and a variety of other apps but found that tinyEmail had the highest TrustPilot score. Users’ biggest pain point seemed to be clunky interfaces and unhelpful customer support. I find that both are outstanding on tinyEmail.

You can do it! I feel women don’t hear this enough. You already have the skills and the talent to realise your dream enterprise, which is why it’s your dream in the first place. There is also ample courage in you – it’s just waiting for you to harness it. More than anything, you don’t need anyone to support you or validate your dreams. You are enough. Just take the first step, alone if you have to, and you’ll realize you’re unstoppable…even by yourself. You can do it.

The grand plan is to scale beyond North America! Currently, Cubba Bubba ships only to Canada and the US, but as sales and rave reviews keep coming in, supplier relations improve and the logistics of global shipping become more and more achievable.
