Whether it’s for personal correspondence or work-related matters, it’s important to keep your email address up to date. Changing your email address on popular platforms like Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail might seem complicated, but with this step-by-step guide, you’ll find it to be easier than you think.

How to Change Your Email Address on Gmail

  1. Sign into your Gmail account.
  2. Click the cog icon on the top right corner.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select “See all settings.”
  4. Go to the “Accounts and Import” tab located at the top of the settings page.
  5. Under the “Send mail as” section, click on “Add another email address.”
  6. Enter the new email address you want to use and follow the instructions to verify it.
  7. Once the new email address is verified, return to the “Accounts and Import” tab.
  8. In the “Send mail as” section, select “Make default” next to the new email address.
  9. Confirm changes.

Changing Your Email Address on Outlook Live

  1. Sign into your Outlook.com account.
  2. Click on the cog icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select “View all Outlook settings.”
  4. In the settings panel, click on “Mail.”
  5. Select “Sync email.”
  6. Under the “Connected accounts” section, click on “Add a connected account.”
  7. Enter your new email address and follow the instructions to complete the setup.
  8. After adding the new account, go back to “Connected accounts.”
  9. Select the new email address and click on “Set as default” to make it your primary account.
  10. Confirm changes.

Changing Your Email Address on Apple Mail

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. In the menu bar at the top, click on “Mail.”
  3. Select “Preferences.”
  4. In the preferences window, click on the “Accounts” tab.
  5. At the bottom left corner of the accounts window, click on the plus button to add a new account.
  6. Choose the type of email account you want to add (iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
  7. Provide the necessary details for your new email address (username, password, etc.).
  8. Click “Set Up” and follow the instructions to complete the setup.
  9. Back in the “Accounts” tab, drag the new email address to the top of the list to set it as the default account.
  10. Confirm changes.
