How to Retrieve a Deleted Email

Accidentally deleting an important email can be a moment of panic, especially if the message contains critical information or valuable attachments. However, there’s no need to worry just yet. In many cases, retrieving a deleted email is entirely possible, thanks to the features and backups provided by most email service providers. We’ll guide you through the steps to retrieve a deleted email from some of the most popular email platforms, ensuring you can recover those important messages without a problem.

Retrieve a Deleted Email in Gmail

  1. Open your Gmail account.
  2. Go to the “Trash” folder located in the left menu bar.
  3. Check for the deleted email you want to recover.
  4. Select the email by clicking the checkbox next to it.
  5. Once the email is selected, click on the “Move to” button at the top and choose the desired location for the email. You can move it back to the inbox or any other folder of your choice.
  6. If you can’t find the deleted email in the “Trash” folder, check the “Spam” or “Bin” folders.

Retrieve a Deleted Email in Outlook

  1. Open your Outlook account.
  2. Go to the “Deleted Items” folder, located on the left side of the window.
  3. Search for the deleted email you want to retrieve.
  4. Select the email by clicking the checkbox next to it.
  5. Click on the “Move” button in the toolbar and choose the location where you want to move the email.
  6. If the deleted email is not in the “Deleted Items” folder, try the “Recover Deleted Items” option.

Retrieve a Deleted Email in Apple Mail

  1. Open your Apple Mail app.
  2. Go to the “Trash” folder located in the left sidebar.
  3. Search for the deleted email you want to recover.
  4. Click on the email to highlight it.
  5. Drag and drop the email back into the desired mailbox.
  6. If the email is not in the “Trash” folder, you can check the “Archive” folder.
