What is tinyRelay?
tinyRelay is an SMTP relay and transactional email service from tinyCo, the team behind tinyEmail. It sends the one-to-one emails your app triggers, such as password resets, receipts and alerts, over SMTP or a REST API.
What's the difference between tinyRelay and tinyEmail?
tinyEmail is for marketing email: campaigns, newsletters and automated workflows sent to your audiences. tinyRelay is for transactional email that your app sends to one person when they do something. Both run on the same delivery infrastructure.
Do I need a tinyEmail account to use tinyRelay?
No. tinyRelay works as a standalone service, or alongside your tinyEmail account if you also send marketing email with tinyEmail.
Can I send over SMTP, or do I have to use the API?
Either. You get SMTP credentials when you register, so you can connect apps, servers or existing email software. Or call the REST API from any language that can make HTTP requests.
Which email events can my app receive?
tinyRelay posts SEND, DELIVERED, BOUNCED, OPEN, CLICK, UNSUBSCRIBE and SPAM events to your webhook URL. Every webhook is signed, bounces come with one of 19 documented categories, and payloads are kept for 5 days for replay. Your tinyRelay sending stats are also visible in your tinyEmail account.
How do I get started with tinyRelay?
Get in touch through tinyrelay.com and the team sets up your account with you. You share your webhook URL and the IP addresses you'll send from, add DKIM and SPF records for your domain, and receive your API key or SMTP credentials.
Is there a tinyRelay SDK?
No SDK is needed. The REST API works with any language that can make HTTP requests, including Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby and Go, and SMTP works with any software that can send email over SMTP.
